Patrick Lynch married Catherine Donnelly in Ireland. They had six children together, all born in Ireland: Edward born October 1808, Margaret, born about 1810, Nicholas, born about 1817, Catherine born about 1822, Matthew Arthur, born about 1822, and Patrick JR, born 14 Mar 1828.
The Lynch family emigrated together in 1840. The Lynch's settled in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The oldest son, Edward, later moved to St. Clair, Blue Earth, Minnesota.
