Comments

  • He bought land in Mulmur in 1834 but married Elizabeth in Toronto in 1839 by Rev. James Harris at Knox Presbyterean Church. Rev. James Harris came from Belfast to start this church. I wonder if Elizabeth was recruited to come to Canada. Sarah and William McKibben were witnesses. I cannot find them either.

I have a DNA match connected to a Mary Anne Ditty from Castledawson.

I have no male Dittys to test but on FTDNA it seems the Haplogroup might be R1b1b2 as this seems to be connected to the Dittys from Northern Ireland
