Martin was born in Ireland but moved to Dundee, Scotland in the 1840s with some of his siblings. His death record (on Scotlands People, Dundee 8 Nov 1900) suggests he was born in County Down but I have found all his siblings baptisms in Tuam so I think he was probably born there as well. However I cannot find a baptism record for Martin in either county. His parents got married in Tuam.
