Martin was born in Ireland but moved to Dundee, Scotland in the 1840s with some of his siblings.  His death record (on Scotlands People, Dundee 8 Nov 1900) suggests he was born in County Down but I have found all his siblings baptisms in Tuam so I think he was probably born there as well.  However I cannot find a baptism record for Martin in either county.  His parents got married in Tuam.

Mother (First Name/s and Maiden) Margaret Farpy also appears as Tarpy and Turpy in the records in Scotland. I have not found any information in the Irish records about her except for the marriage record (see her husband above).
Names of Siblings Joseph and John (twins born 1828), Mary (born 1832), Michael (born 1838). All baptised in Tuam, County Galway.
