Patrick, his wife and family first settled in Clarence Township, Ontario, in 1838, next to Joseph Kinsella (Kinsley) and Frances Bradley, who had immigrated to Canada before 1825, possibly as early as 1823. Patrick then moved to Cumberland Township.
