  • My 2nd g-grandfather Anthony Handlen was born to father Robert Handlen (a weaver) and (unknown) mother in Cork in about 1819. He emigrated to the small town of Wortley, South Yorkshire, England, and married Ellen Barry, also from Ireland, in 1852. He was father to twelve children, was a master tailor, and died at about age 76 in Wortley after being run over by a trap (horse and carriage).
