Rosanna Fitzpatrick was born in Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1823. She immigrated to the United States with her parents "as a young child" per her obituary, which was information given by the son she was living with (George Thomas Duffy). She lived in Albany, New York. She married Thomas Duffy in Albany, NY in 1847. Thomas Duffy was then living in Troy, Rensselaer, New York (adjacent to Albany) after immigrating the previous year, 1846. He was born in 1830, in Ireland. Three years later, they appear on the 1850 census in Grand Rapids, Portage, Wisconsin. They had their first child that year. Her children were James, b. 1850 in Grand Rapids, WI; George Thomas, b 1853 in Grand Rapids, WI; Rosetta, b. 1856 in Wisconsin; Stephen, b. 1857 in Wisconsin; and Edward, b. 1861 in Wisconsin. Thomas died in 1864 in Fordham, Adams, Wisconsin. By 1870, Rosanna had relocated to Oakland, Freeborn, Minnesota with her children. She lived there and in neighboring Austin, Mower, Minnesota for the remainder of her life, with her son George Thomas Duffy. She died 28 Aug 1896. I have a possible father of William Fitzpatrick and his wife Mary (maiden name unknown) but no proof. Anyone know this Fitzpatrick family? Rosanna is my maternal great great grandmother.
