Migrated to/Born in UK
My maternal g/father Joe Byrne was born in Arklow, Co Wicklow in 1905, the youngest son of James Byrne, the local Postman & Bridget nee Farrell. I think they had 7 other children. He married my g/mother Annie Swan Tullock, in 1938 & had 3 children
He went to sea as a teenager & was a mariner until he retired. He met my grandmother in Tyneside when on shore leave when his ship was berthed on the River Tyne. They stayed in South Shields & raised their family there, & he died there in 1969.
