Elliott appears as a middle name for several of my kin who were either from Ireland or were born in Brooklyn, New York. I'd like to know of any connection.

Hello George,
This family is from Northern Ireland, County Fermanagh is from a little place called Trasna Island in the Parish of Trory. Trasna Island is in Lough Erne. I do know that the father of this William Elliott who is also a William and married to a Margaret, had 8 brothers. Only 5 are known - John & Thomas both drowned in Lough Erne, Andrew who stayed in the area, William who immigrated to England and another John who immigrated to Australia. The other 4 brothers we cannot find.
This William had 11 children and 8 survived. I know 2 immigrated to America, first landing in New York. I believe both brother and sister ended up in Canada. They were Thomas Elliott and Caroline Elliott. Caroline married William Charles Sharp or Sharpe. Thomas married Anna Carson, then widowed and married Florence Brown.I hope this helps.
