Also on board with Free passage were William DUFFY a native of Ireland (whose details are as yet unknown) and his wife Catherine nee MEEHAN [b c 1821 Cloonlara, Ballyhaunis] d 24 Aug 1907 and daughter of Mathias MEEHAN [b c 1780 & d bet 1856 - 1864 possibly Logboy] & Catherine FINNIGAN [c 1780 Cloonlara & d 21 Nov 1865 Cloonlara Ballyhaunis] & their surviving son John Patrick DUFFY born Coatesville, Chester, Pennsylvania, USA. William and Catherine had married in the USA and after the loss of all their children bar one returned to Ireland and then immigrated to Australia with other family members.
Catherine DUFFY nee MEEHAN's eldest brother Patrick [b c 1817 Logboy died 3 Oct 1902 Dingo Point, Stuart River, Queensland] and his wife Mary nee HUNT daughter of Thomas HUNT & Nora FINNIGAN [b c 1833 Braughlau and died 29 Aug 1903 Toowoomba, Queensland] and their surviving children immigrated to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia as Remittance passengers on board the Quetta out of London 29 Jul 1884 and arrived in Brisbane 24 Sept 1884 :

Each person on board both ships were, over a period of time able to buy land and make a satisfactory life for them selves and their descendents. Many were held in high regard through their endeavours and by dint of character and commitment. Australia proved a good choice for them even though they had to leave the land of their forebears to achieve.
