Hugh Byrne was my great great grandfather. He had three children that I found baptism records for in Stonetown and Rootate, Louth Parish, County Louth. The first child Catherine was born in Stonetown in 1843 by Jane Lamb, (1820-1870) The second child I found was Mary, born in 1846 in Rootate by "Jenny Lamb". The third child was my great granny Bridget born in 1848 in Rootate.by Jane Lamb. There was also a son James, but I think he wasborn by another mother, as I cannot find his baptism record with certainty.)
Hugh Byrne was a tenant farmer in Rootate in 1854 as well as 1859. (Griffiths) In 1859 Hugh was crossed out in the Canceled Revision Books and Bridget was written in as the alteration in occupier. I think Hugh must have died between 1857 and 1858. (Family sources say he was killed in a marl pit accident.) After that time Jane Burns relocated in r the U S.near relatives Mathew Lamb and Dennis Carroll.
