Mark Conroy lived in Terryduff, Addergoole, County Mayo. He married Bridget McGowan from Terrybaun, Addergoole, County Mayo. Together they had at least seven children Martin, Mary, Catherine, Bridget, Honora, Michael and Ellen. Mark Conroy died 19 March 1882 from injuries suffered after falling from and being dragged by horse he had been riding. After his death, his family moved to Liverpool. Later his wife and three daughters, Mary, Honora and Ellen, migrated to America, settling in Chicago, Illinois.
