Migrated to/Born in Australia
My great great Grandfather Philip Ronan (Ronann, this is how the name was spelt on his 1st childs birth certificate) emmigrated to Australia in 1856.
His parents were Patrick Ronan and Bridget Hennessey (Both deceased by the time Philip left Ireland).
Philip sailed from Plymouth, England on the ship 'Kate' and the shipping records state that he was from Clonrush, Galway (now in Clare), Catholic and could read and write.
There is a Philip Ronan who attended Lakyle School in Whitegate, but I have not confirmed if this is my gg Grandfather.
He had a sister Mary who paid his passage to Australia so she would have left Ireland before 1856.
His cousins were Michael and Margaret Ryan (their parents were Michael Ryan and Margaret Nee Ronan).
