I have a great grandfather John Meade who was baptized in Mayo Abbey in 1839. His father wasPatrick Meade. He was a tenant farmer in Pollawaddy, a small townland in Mayo. I would be interested if we have a connection. Meade is not a common name. Do you know where in Mayo Dennis Meade came from?

Hello.
Thanks for your comment re Dennis Meade. No, I don't know where in Mayo he came from. He is listed in the 1841 England Census as a widower, his wife passed away 1840, with four children. They were all born in England, so he had to have migrated from Ireland by about 1827-8. Also listed on this Census with him is his cousin, Bridget from Ireland.
The 1851 England Census has more info and Bridget's place of birth, also Mayo, seems to have a place name but I've tried to decipher what is written and spent heaps of time 'Googling' but I just get nowhere.
I won't give up though lol

Hi Dennis,
Lovely to see another Meader family in the Chronicles. My Patrick came from Limerick, and at the moment I am trying to research and see how many Meade Families had
Tailors as occupations. Could take me a while but I think will be interesting.
