Anna Ferns was born in 1832 in Offaly, Ireland, the daughter of Anonymous and Anonymous. She married Michael Spain on August 20, 1845. They had nine children in 25 years. She died on November 15, 1897, in Jefferson, Iowa, at the age of 65.
