Stephen Ryan, my great-grandfather, was born in December 1858 to Patrick and Catherine Ryan.  Catherine's maiden name was also Ryan and they married in 1845 in the Knockavilla parish.  Of the 12 children in this family, at least three emigrated to Australia (Warwick, Queensland) in the mid 1880s.  These three included, Stephen, an older sister (Eliza born 1848) and a younger brother (Alexander born 1860).

Patrick Ryan is shown on baptismal records as being a blacksmith resident in Ballinard.

I would be interested to know:

1.  if any of the other children stayed in Ireland and any details of their lives.  In the 1901 and 1911 census there is a James Ryan, blacksmith, of approximately the right age but I don't know if this is a brother to Stephen.  The James in the census had married Mary Dalton in 1886 and his father's name is shown as Patt, occupation blacksmith, of Ballinard so chances are good.  Interestingly, Alexander also worked as a blacksmith in Australia.

2.  when Patrick or Catherine died (or any other information about their lives and families).  Their last child (Mary) was born in 1864 and so their deaths should be covered by civil registrations but I have not been able to locate likely candidates.

3.  if any other children emigrated to Australia or other parts of the world.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  We also hope to be in Ireland in 2019 so it would be lovely to have any additional information.  Many thanks.
