Mary King was born 20 April 1896 in Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal. she was the daughter of Bridget Gallagher & Partick Boyle. Mary spent her childhood living in Rosskirk & Killhill area with her parents & siblings until she met and married Andrew King a soldier stationed nearby.
Mary and Andrew were married at the convent in Letterkenny, they had 3 children.
Sadly Andrew died in action in Frace & Flanders in 1917 - Andrew was the son of Pheobe & Thomas King of Kilmacrennan.
After Andrew died, Mary took her young family to live with her husbands parents in Kilmacrennan & she lived there until she died in December 1937.
