Alfred (Alfie) Knight (Jnr), born in Dublin 29 Aug 1904, the eldest son to Alfred (Snr) Knight and his wife Elizabeth (nee West).
He migrated to Canada, at the age of 21, later married, had 2 children. He died in Vancouver British Columbia Canada on 24 Jan 1988.
At the age of 9, he wrote a letter to Lord Kitchener volunteering to be a dispatch rider for the English Army in the First World war. This letter is on display at the Imperial War Museum in London. (Google, Alfie Knight Lord Kitchener).
Alfie’s brother, Charles Edward (Patrick) Knight, migrated to Australia, at age 15, under the Dreadnought scheme, to be trained to work on farms in New South Wales.
