The Courthouse was erected, with the addition of the Bridewell Jail in 1833 for the use of the inhabitants of Co. Cavan. This building is currently closed but hopefully, one day, it will be reopened for the use of people of the area.

Roman Catholic Church, BailieboroughBailieborough Parish Church, St Anne's, was opened in 1835 and it replaced an older church now in ruins. One of the stained glass windows is a memorial to Lord and Lady Lisgar, whose remains are interred in the vault of the Young family. Another window is a memorial to the James Family. The family roots were in Wales and they settled in Bailieborough in the 1700s. The family were originally from Wales, one of whom, Henry James, is widely celebrated as a novelist.

Old Chuch Ruins

The ruins of the Old Church are situated over looking the town it is beleived to have dated back to 1760.  In the graveyard is a memorial for those who died in the Famine dated 1847.
