Cormongan Townland

Howdy!

I have found out that my great-grandfather (Peter Nugent) was born on a leased farm in Cormongan, Kiltoghert, Co. Leitrim. My wife and I are planning a visit to Ireland to include a visit to Leitrim in September. I have been doing a little research on who owns the lands where my 2nd great-grandfather lived, but I’m unsure how I connect with them for permission to visit. Do you have any suggestions? I didn’t want to post names on a public board, but I’ll tell you the place.

His father, James Nugent leased the lower half of Cormongan on Lough Allen, west of R207. He married Rose Reynolds, maybe the daughter or sister of Patrick Reynolds who leased the northern part. Their oldest daughter, Mary, married Henry Flynn, and I believe they took over the lease. Another sister, Rose, married Michael Murray. I believe he and his daughter Rose Murray taught at the little school house at the south tip of Cormongan, right next to the pier.

Maybe I have some cousins still in the area? I would love help connecting. We will be staying in Leitrim Villiage toward the end of September.
