Can anyone please tell me if the Diocese of Cashel and Emly Marriage Bonds were for the Church of Ireland or Catholic Church.
Thanks in advance

Pam,
Per Irishcentral.com
Marriage license bonds in Ireland were issued by the Established Church as an alternative to the public proclamation of banns in church. These licenses were available to both Catholics and Protestants who chose to be married by license. Unlike banns, which required public announcements, marriage license bonds provided a greater measure of privacy for the bride and groom1. Unfortunately, most of the actual licenses were destroyed in the 1922 fire at the Public Record Office, but the indexes survived.
