Hi, I’ve recently done a DNA test and it has been confirmed that my mother’s real dad was an Aidan Simmonds who died in 1956 in Kilrush. My mother was adopted in 50s and we later found her real mum and we know a great deal about her. Unfortunately my mother died some time ago but I would like to know if there any living relatives of Aidan Simmonds and how I can connect with them. Thanks

    I attach the Civil birth record of a Charles Henry Simmins/Simmons in Kilrush in1889. No. 490 on page.

    His father William Simmins was a Private in the British Army. The family settled in Kilrush town suburbs.

    You will get further information for free in the 1901 and 1911 Irish census..

    Aiden was born April 29th 1927 and married in 1951.

    I suggest that you contact the Parish Priest in Kilrush who may know some family members. It is a situation that the family of Aiden Simmons may not be aware of.

  • Thank you for your emails this is so useful. I have connected with the Parish priest in Kilrush to see if they can shred any further information. Thank you the newspaper which proves what we already knew about his death.
