my father was adopted so i got a ancestry test that told me i was almost 50% irish and led me to the starrs family in nenagh. i tried to do as much research as i could to try and find our closest relative but have been struggling as the starrs family is massive. i’ve been able to narrow it down that i am a decedent from a john and william starrs from around the 1800s, and i was able to contact a 3rd cousin via the ancestry app. she only informed me that the starrs family is very religious catholic and that my father was most likely born out of wedlock hence why he was put for a private adoption and disowned. i’ve noticed a “anne” or “ann” starrs who seems to be an older irish lady very important to my starrs family but i cannot find proper records on her at all. i also wanted to mention that on my ancestry test it shows me my closest relatives and the number one is a william starrs (shares 1,207 cM which is more dna shared than my closest maternal aunts). if anyone can provide any insight at all on my starrs family it would be much appreciated! i am having difficulty maneuvering this specific website for research but i am glad there is a message board. i would love to visit the specific area where my bloodline is from one day hence why this research is important to me.

There were two John Starrs born in Nenagh around 1870. But without additional information and a more definite year, I cannot say either is an ancestor. The search was limited to John Starr born between 1860 and 1880 in Tipperary. I don't know if this is the correct time period.
One John Starr had parents named Edward Starr and Margaret Doran. Their address was Carney, Tipperary; the Parish was Terryglass. The sponsors for the baptism on 18 Jan 1870 were Stephen Starr and Mary Starr
The second John Starr was baptized on 19 Jun 1870, his parents were Patrick Starr and Mary Conway. Their address was Portroe, Co. Tipperary and their parish was also Portroe.
As far as the cM that you share, this website may help you place this person. https://isogg.org/wiki/Autosomal_DNA_statistics#Charts_and_tools You are correct in that 1,207 cM is a very high match and usually a first cousin, but not always. More exploration would need to be done.
