Hi - I can not locate the town listed on this 1887 death for Darby Ryan. It is written both for him and for Sarah Ryan, present at the death. Does anyone have any idea what town it might be? Thanks!

Roger,
No Darby Ryan found for the townland of Annagh, Civil Parish of Abington. Many "Ryan's" recorded there!
Subscription site www.findmypast.ie has five "Darby Ryan" - 2 marriages - None linked with Murroe

MBradley,
I have searched various records for the place name which appears to be "SHINA" with negative results.
It was possibly a local place name at the time. I will get back to you.

Jim:
When I looked at the place name associated with the informant Serah Ryan, it is clearly Anna. I then went back to the first column and although I also thought Shina initially, I can now see Anna.

Attached notes by John O'Donovan. They may jog some persons memory.
I have emailed the Registrar in Limerick city for his/her views.
The problem is that the surname "Ryan" is so is prominent in the area.
Tithe Records 1826 for Annagh has a Denis Derby Ryan and a John Derby Ryan, but the "Derby" is possibly family identification?

Roger,
Reply from the Registrar in Limerick - "the place of death of Darby Ryan is "Anna" short for Annagh.
