I searched on Ancestry.com and the father of Edward was John J. Malley and his mother was Nellie McCarthy. Both John and Nellie were born in Pennsylvania. Their parents were born in Ireland. John J. Malley was born in 1868 according to what was entered on the 1900 census form. 

I think you need to research to locate the name of John's father and mother. You may also want to consider taking a DNA test. You may get matches with 3rd or 4th cousins who might have more info on the Malley family in Ireland.

Ok. My brother created that particular record and it may not be correct since my grandfather never mentioned certain events in his life to his own daughter. He was in WW1 and convicted of manslaughter in NY. There’s a death certificate but not a birth certificate that states his parents were John Malley and “Nellie” Ellen McCarthy. That’s where I have trouble but I’ll keep looking.
