Hi I'm trying to find details of my grandad Thomas Martyn who lived I believe in the Newbridge, Ross common, Ballinsloe area.
My grandad Thomas married my Nana Mary Casey who's parents was also from Ireland and Nana's mum and dad was called Peter & Bridget Casey.
My Grandad Thomas and Nana Mary Martyn went on to have 5 children 3 boys and 2 girls.
2 of their son's became Famous Rugby League Legends Mick Martyn & Tommy Martyn with Uncle Tommy having a son Tommy Junior who played for St Helens and represented Ireland at Rugby.
I am desperately trying to find out the Names of my Nana & Grandads parents if anyone could please help me I'd be so grateful.
Thanks you
Sean

Hi, Please provide approx years or decades of births and marriages mentioned above. And can you provide name of Thomas's children in order?
Where did he marry? In Ireland or elsewhere?
Thank you.

Sean,
Attached Transcription records - Thomas Martin and Mary Casey 4th Quarter 1935. Do you have the original marriage record which would give the names of the Witnesses to the marriage?
The surname "Martin" appears to have been quite common in that period in Leigh.
In Ireland the surname is more common as "Martin" rather than "Martyn".
