Hello everyone,
I am trying to trace any ancestry of my 4x great-Grandmother's family. Her name is Mary Lahife, baptised March 1796 in Mitchelstown, Cork. Her parents are James Lahife and Mary Foracal. They have become my brick-wall along with my 4x great-Grandfather, Adam Young, born c.1796. I have Adam first listed on a marriage certificate between he and Mary Lahife (listed as Latner), 20 September 1813, Kilfinnane, Limerick, Ireland.
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and safe and Happy New Year.
Kind regards,
Debra Sheahan

On RootsIreland (subscription), there are records for three sons born to an Adam Young and Mary Lahife in St. Mary's, Limerick City.
Charles 1822, Charles 1825, Adam 1826

There were likely children born in the years after the 1813 marriage and before 1822, but perhaps the records are not available.
RootsIreland shows a son, John, baptized in 1817, but the transcription says his parents are Adam and Sally. It is possible someone mistranscribed Mary as Sally. You'd have to check the original record.

Hi Mary and Patricia,
Thank you for your replies, very much appreciated.
Adam and Mary had 4 children - Charles, Adam, Andrew and Henry. Charles and Adam were born in Ireland, Andrew and Henry in England. I have their histories, Charles and Adam came to Australia, Andrew and Henry stayed in England.
I know there is a John but was never sure of a date.
I would really like to find Mary's parents and even a birth certificate or baptism record for Adam (Father) Young.
I know records are hard to come by but I hope there may be family still around.
Merry Christmas,
Debra
