  • John,

The subscription site Roots Ireland shows a Thomas Glynn born 16 Jun 1837 to a Patrick Glynn and Mary Tannyan,

The RC parish is Bullaun, Galway. One sponsor recorded was Kate Nevin.

I searched both Galway east and west, and this is the only one I found that fits a marriage in 1857 as the three other births of a Thomas with a father Patrick would only have been 13 or 14 at time of marriage.

    Regards,

    See Civil index attached.

You have stated that your "Thomas Glynn" was a member of the  Irish Constabulary with the service Number 17826. Do you have a copy of this record?

  • John,

A check of the Civil records for Dublin North shows the death of a "Thomas Glynn" aged 45 years, Labourer, having died at 87 Prussia Street on March 7th 1883. His death was reported by Sarah Jane Glynn - Wife.

  • John,

Attached record for Thomas Glynn - RIC 17826. He was appointed to the force on June 6th 1853 and was posted to County Antrim in 1854. He resigned on February 1st 1857.

He was a native of County Galway and was recommended by Sub Inspector Abbott. The Station in which Inspector Abbott was serving should give the local of the residence of Thomas Glynn. Unable to send the original record, due to size.

  • John,

The Marriage record on Roots Ireland shows Thomas Glynn - Full Age (over 21) and not over 21 as I have stated.

I have checked for a Sub Inspector Abbott in East County Galway in the years 1850 to 1853. Negative.

I attach the Civil Marriage record of Thomas Glynn to Sarah Jane Scott in 1857.

    Regards,

    McCoy
