I am looking for any information regarding the NIXON surname in either Leitrim or Sligo. My 4th great grandmother MARGARET NIXON was born in Leitrim abt. 1783 and married my 4th great grandfather JAMES GRAHAM born just south of Sligo on the Tullynagracken road abt. 1778. I am looking for any information regarding either of these families such as parentage, siblings, land records, anything at all that makes mention of either of these surnames.
Thank you,
Donna Graham-Addis UE

Donna,
Crossle Genealogical Abstracts have what appears to be a baptism of a "John". Parents - James Graham and Margaret Nixon. Right hand page No. 77. St. John's - Sligo. Not Posted due to size.
www.findmypast.ie does not specify what the ceremony was.
The surname "Nixon" was quite common in County Leitrim - 1834 - 1837. Free Site www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy.
There is a John Graham recorded in 12 Rathcliffe Street - Sligo - Source: Slater's Directory - Shopkeepers and Dealers 1881.
Griffith's Valuation has a number of "Graham's" in County Sligo - 1850's.
