Hello, I have traced my relatives (with help from your good selves) now I’m trying to find further back re,family relatives of a William Dollard, he married Maryann /Marian fennell in 1853, in carlow cathedral, died 1865 and had 4 children. He was working as a porter in Kildare infirmary, I’m almost 100% he was an army pensioner possibly from east India army, but can’t find details via a kew researcher as he informed me the records are too recent!!!! So exhausted all the usual research sites, just hoping your good selves may have some fresh ideas. Thanks.

Maggie,
Attached copy of Will by William Dollard. It confirms that he was in the British Army, but no detail given.
Many Army records were destroyed by the bombing of London in WW2.
So far, no record found for his Army Service.

Maggie,
A William Dullard recorded later as Dollard joined the British Army in Roscrea on January 9th 1832. He was discharged in May 1853. There is no evidence to show that this is your relative. He was a native of Queens (Offaly)
Some detail attached.

Maggie,
Attached transcription of the record of William Dollard. It has detail of the archive file and box number.
You may consider having this checked for accuracy.
In the medical record, William is shown as being 19 years and 11 months.
There is a record of a William Dullard who joined the Queens Militia (Laois) in 1808 and the British Army in 1816. Possible connection!
