Hi I need help!!!
I am trying to find where my husband's ancestors came from. I am doing a surprise trip for his 60th birthday. He has always thought his grandparents originated in Ireland but I have been to our Mitchell library and have found out they were born here in Glasgow. However I have hit a stumbling block. I am kind of assuming that his great grandparents were born in Ireland and that is where the connection is. I have the name of his great grand parents and rough years of birth and also great great grandparents names but have no idea whereabouts in ireland they were from
Any pointers would be great.
Thanks
Emma Gaffney

Hi , so I am looking to find the parents of John Gaffney. born ( i think in Ireland) around 1863. His father was John Gaffney and his mother was Mary Feeney. I think John's sister was a carmalite nun in ireland. ( the first John). He married Isabella McGuire in Glasgow in 1890.
Any help appreciated
thanks

HI Patricia
I have also found out that Isabella Gaffney (ne McGuire) died aged 25 in glasgow in 1893. Her parents were Patrick McGuire and Isabella Devlin.
