Hi, I have come across the name of a potential relative, however her maiden name is difficult to make out.  Could someone help me?  Jane Kemps is her married name, I think the maiden name begins with Mc and possibly ends in on

    The name is difficult to make out.  Can you provide some context so our volunteers may assist. What type of record? What year? A full page of the record might be helpful to compare how letters were written on other records.

  • The record looks to me as though it’s from a Scottish record. If so, you can e-mail Scotlandspeople and ask for a better copy. They are very helpful with that.
