I have read that around 300 householders were evicted from a 5 mile radius of Drumlish in 1882 and I know Fr Conefrey intervened and their homes were saved but are there any records of the names of householders who were effected? As I had relatives in Drumlish and Enybegs.
Thanks
Lily

Hello Lily
Ireland was in a bad place back then, just after coming out of the Famine. Below are 2 very useful links for you.

Thanks Phyl.
We are planning a visit next year and we are hoping to visit Longford library as we want to look at Fr Owen Devaneys book and hopefully they will have a copy of the book that Fr Conefrey wrote about the land wars. I'm hoping there's records somewhere about the families who were able to buy their own homes as at least two branches of my family were able to.
