Elias emigrated from Ireland to Middlesex County, Onrario about 1871. In 1878 he married Agnes Bingham, listing his parents as James and Susan Hopkins. I believe that the parents were James Hopkins 1813-1892 and his wife Susannah Hopkins 1816-1895. This family lived at Minmore Townland.. By 1848 they had 4 sons, only 3 of whom I can identify. I "believe" the other son was Elias, but do not have access to the Newrownbarry Circuit Methodist Baptism records to check for him. Can anyone confirm my thoughts or direct me ro the Methodist records online?

Robin Roddie, the historian and archivist at Edgehill Theological College in Belfast should be able to tell you what records exist for that circuit. (They may still be with the circuit or they may be in Belfast).
