Mintoe:
Could you provide more information regarding your O'Dells? Names, dates, county in Ireland etc. Thanks!

Mark:
I located their March 1 1903 marriage record. No image is available just a transcription of the record. Samuel G. O'Dell was a sergeant in the Army and stationed at Cork Barracks. He was a widower. His father's name was also Samuel G. who was also a soldier.
Anne Coughlan was from Kinsale and her father was Patrick Coughlan who was a fisherman.
Both were at least age 21.
One of the witnesses was a Mary Ellen Coughlan possibly a sister to Anne.
They had a son Samuel George born in 1904. See third record at the link.
I don't see any other birth records anywhere in Ireland thru 1911 which to me indicates that Samuel had another posting outside of Ireland after 1904.

Thank you so much im very grateful, I know they emigrated to Manchester and opened or ran a boarding house for irish immigrants. I wasn't to sure if my grandmother had remembered it correctly. I know my great grandad was in the army and was born in India under the British flag she recalled .much appreciated Roger
