Snowfrill,
The baptism records for the RC parish of Drumcliff began in April 1841, and the marriage records began in Jan 1865. I could not find a civil marriage record for the couple, and they began in 1864.
Regards,
Carolyn

Hello,
In Griffith’s Valuation of Sligo, 1856-57, there was a Mary Mannion living in Carney (Jones) townland, renting a house and land from a neighbor, Thomas Feeny. There is also a neighbor called Gallagher.
RootsIreland has a baptism for a Catherine Mannion born in 1844 in Drumcliffe parish. Note that one of the witnesses was named Feeny and Catherine’s mother was Nancy Gallagher. These names were both found in Carney (Jones) townland in Griffith’s Valuation.
Catherine Mannion
Baptism: 04-May-1844
RC Parish/District: Drumcliffe, Co. Sligo
Father: James
Mother: Nancy Gallagher
Sponsors: Francis Feeny, Anne Duffy
I hope this is helpful.

ty so much Patricia maybe i have the wrong dates for both Michael Mitchell n Catherine Manion/Mannion as i believed Michael Mitchell was born in 1838 and that would make Catherine Manion/Mannion being born in 1836 as i believe she was 2 yrs older than Michael. We all make mistakes especially when not in our era LoL

Ages are a bit loosy-goosy in most ancestral records. The Irish often didn't know when they were born. Birthdays were not celebrated. You might find an ancestor's age differing in every census--who gave the info to the census taker? And did the census taker write it down correctly?
In doing Irish research, I find it common to find a baptismal record for someone that shows them to be several years older than they claimed.
I hope this helps.

totally agree on that Patricia as i have a census for my husbands grandfather n the 1st census he was in he was older than the 2nd census n it wasnt by 10 yrs neither yet everything in that 1st census was correct people wise just age was way off, I did find a 1911 census for Michael Mitchell n Catherine his wife n Patrick his son was in it but it was in Cloghboley, Lissadell West, Sligo yes it is a possiblity but it said Patrick was a Different age to his birth record and that is a possiblity as well but it would make it that Michael was born in 1838 n Catherine Manion/Mannion in 1836 here is report of the 1911 census that i found: Now that could be the right census but area is wrong i believe what do you think

Hi, I don't have enough info to determine whether those are your ancestors in the 1911 census. Did you also check the 1901?
