My great grandfather was John Barry, born Queenstown, Cork, Ireland 1843/47. He was the son of Michael Barry, a farmer, and his wife, Margaret Stafford, who were married in 1840 in Diocese of Cloyne, Aghada, Ireland.
My great grandfather, John, appears to have left home aged 15, travelled far and wide and ended up in Australia, married twice, had a large family and at the time of his death was a master mariner.
I believe that he had at least three siblings - Margaret, born 1849, David, born 1855 and Catherine, born 1859 although these birth years are approximate. All the sibling came to Australia with the girls eventually ending up in New Zealand however David died young and unmarried aged 27.
I don't seem to be able to find anything about Michael or Margaret (Stafford) Barry or any Cork connections or if there were any other children of the marriage. If anyone can assist with this that would be great.

According to the subscription site Roots Ireland they had at least ten children: Ellen 1840 John 1842 James 1843 Margaret 1845 Michael 1847 Patrick 1848 (died young?) Mary 1850 Patrick 1853 David 1855 Catherine 1857.

One of the witnesses to their 25 Feb 1840 wedding was a John Barry....possibly a sibling to Michael.

Looking at 1901 census a possible brother to your John . Michael Barry farmer age 52 lived at Ballywilliam Queenstown Rural. Michael married 1890 his father was also Michael. Michael had 5 children living 1911 census. His eldest living son James Christopher Barry married 1922 in Cobh Cathedral per Irish genealogy civil records.Cork. A further search would probably locate other family.
