Hi,

I am looking for actual relatives of the Enright family from Limerick, possibly Listowel. I'm not really familiar with the areas of Ireland. I am looking fro Joseph Enright, born about 1899, with a potential father's name as Michael. He was married to a Bridget Linehan and has a grandson in Ireland called Timothy Enright who I had a DNA match with but i can't seem to get in contact with. I have found the census information, however I'd love to get in touch with some relatives. Thanks

Here is the civil marriage record and the father of Joseph was Patrick. Married in Listowel RC church in Co.Kerry

It appears that Joseph was from Ballycahill in Hospital civil parish in Co. Limerick, Hospital civil parish is located in eastern Co. Limerick near the Tipperary border and a good distance from Listowel.

See fourth record at this link for a possible birth record for Joseph.  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1903/01844/1719530.pdf

Regarding the grandson that you mentioned, our privacy rules prevent us from trying to locate living individuals.

  • Hi Jody,

My name is James Cussen, when the Irish records opened on June 30, 2022 I found the Cussen's records in Listowel, Kerry, Ireland - before that I did not know where in Kerry, Ireland the Cussen's came from or who there relatives were.

The records go back to the late 1820's in Listowel or Lixnaw. Also Co. Limerick we have a Cussen born.

When looking at birth records from Irish Genealogy.ie I noticed names like Walsh, Enright -
Mary Enright, Magee, Cornelius Enright, Flaherty, Morris, Healy, Patrick Enright, Ann Enright, Costello and Dowde. The name Dowde I have figured out the connection after talking to a Dowde family member.

There is a Costello who is buried with the Cussen's here in Montreal. But we do not know who she is, but at least we know her connection.

May I ask do you have Cussen in your 'family history' and do you recognize the Enright names that were the Sponsor's for the births of some of the Cussen's babies at that time in Listowel. Or any of the other names.
