Looking for details on Michael McTiernan O'Connor - birth maybe 1850. Records have his marriage to Elizabeth Mary Davey in J-F-M 1886, Sligo.
In Jan/May 1875, I've just found a record (encumbered estate) of him (as owner) of parts of Castleconnor, formally know as Shewnaskry and Ballynalinagh. Barony of Tireragh. 'Held under free-farm grant, believed to of ancient date'.
Petitioner was Mary Graham, widow of John Graham and continued as Mary Carey (widow of Edward Carey).
Could anyone elaborated more on these events and/or family details. Wife was Elizabeth Mary Davey. She died before the family immigrated to Brisbane. 6 adult children came out as 'Free passage' and Michael in steerage.
I have the baptism records for Susan 1864, Elizabeth Mary 1866, Charles Owen 1870, Patrick James 1872, Margaret 1876 and Bridget 1877.
I find the McTiernan middle name so what odd for a family ... so must have been important...
Thanks is advance.... Trish
