Good afternoon I was wondering if anyone could help. Desperately seeking information on my great grandmother maiden name Catherine - Kate Dempsey married my great grandfather William in 1899 In Dublin there on the 1901 census she is known as Kate they have on child Mary at this time. They move to Ballina where you find them on the 9011 census. She was born in 1869 1870 . This as much as I can find out about her. My father is evacuated during the war to live with his grandmother he has Very little knowledge of this time or what happened to her he now has dementia and cannot really give us any information but I’m desperately looking to see where she was buried if anyone has any information I would be really grateful thank u

Both the 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses state that Catherine was born in Queen's Co. (today called Co. Laois). Perhaps look in that county for her birth record and baptismal certificate.
Have you seen her marriage record? It should give her father's name and perhaps the townland she lived in. This info would assist you in identifying her baptism or birth.
William Conroy was said on one of the censuses to be from Queen's; on the other, Kildare.

1. Attached Civil birth record for a Catherine Dempsey. Date of birth June 13th 1873 according to record in Subscription site - www.rootsireland.ie.
2. Civil marriage record of a Catherine Dempsey to William Conroy in Rathgar Church - Dublin South on July 24th 1899. William Conroy's address is 4, Blessington Street, Dublin.
