Just wondering if there are any researchers who could trace my O'Connell family history in Galway. I would be happy to pay for the service.
I have attached a Jpeg of my DNA story and an image of my family tree.
Mary O'Connell's maiden name was Barnes.
Thanks, Kenny O'Connell.

We have volunteers who can try to assist you but we don't accept any payments individually unless you want to donate to the Ireland Reaching Out organization.
Did the Patrick O'Connell/Mary Barnes marriage occur in Ireland? Was Mary Barnes from Co.Galway?

Hi Roger,
I have searched the marriage records for Liverpool, and there is no record of them. So, yes, they were married in Galway and moved to Liverpool between the 1851 - 1861 census. I have them on the census returns in Liverpool from 1861 onwards.
It states on the 1891 census (see attached) that Mary and Patrick were from Galway. They had a son Michael who I'm assuming was born in Galway in 1858 before they moved to Liverpool.
If you have any volunteers who could look into this for me I would be more than happy to make a donation to the organisation.
I can also grant them access to my tree on Ancestry, where they will find other records that may help.
Thanks for your time and interest, best regards, Kenny.

Kenny,
I suggest that you contact Galway History Society - Email: galwaywestgenealogy@gmail.com.
A check of Subscription site www.findmypast.ie has a number of "Barnes" surnames in Galway city and Tuam.
Nothing found for Michael Connell/O'Connell c1858.
In the period you are researching the surname O'Connell was known as "Connell".
Surname "Feely"/ Fehilly is mainly found in North County Galway/Roscommon.
Regards,
McCoy
