My great Grand Parents lived in Curracloon which was part of Feakle. Michael McNamara Married Mary Rogers. Michael's parents were John McNamara and Bridget O'Brien. Mary's parents were Thady Rogers and Margaret Touhy.
Michel and Mary had five children: John (my grand father), Timothy, Daniel, Margaret, and Mary. All of the children, except Mary (born in 1902) appear on the 1901 census for Curracloon. On the 1911 census there are no trace of the family. I believe Michael passed away sometime in 1905 and his wife Mary a number of years later in a "home". I found, what I think, in the 1911 Census where all five of the children went(to relatives or other places).
John emigrated to New York in 1912. The rest of the children followed soon after. All staying with John for a period of time. All five of the children lived in the city of New York (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and The Bronx). My grand parents died in the 1940's so I had no one to query about our family.
I know, from my research that there are McNamaras, Raynors, Powers, Donnellens, Walsh, Costello, Conway, and Bonsignour in my family tree. I have spoken to some. Some refuse to talk to me.

Hi John, Do you have the date of the marriage of Michael McNamara to Mary Rogers. In relation to the surname "Rogers" it is also recorded as "Rodgers". The Polling Register for Feakle in 1887 has 5 "Thady/Timothy" Rogers recorded. Their addresses are Cloonagroe, Currakyle, Kildavin (Timothy & Thady), Knocknageeha. Civil Registration in Ireland are from January 1st 1864. Church records can vary. Regards

McCoy, I have the death record of Michael in 1905. I found his wife's, Mary Rogers McNamara death date. One is in 1910 at the the Scariff Union Hospital on 18 Septermer 1910. The is also one in 1934 but it really doesn't fit the age/ timeline. What I am really looking for is where they were inhumed. Thanks. John

John, There are in the region of nine cemeteries in the parish of Feakle. I did a quick search on the County Clare library website - www.clarelibrary.ie - which has a list copied from headstones, but did not find any which refers to McNamara of Corracloon. It is unlikely that a headstone was erected having regard to the cost. As you will see, many were erected from the 1950's as people became more prosperous. Best Wishes,
