I have found a marriage record for John Jordon and Mary O’Leary, who were married in Picton, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada in 1855. Mary’s parents were Patrick O’Leary and Ellen Connor from Killarney. I have found a number of Mary’s siblings, but I have been unable to trace John Jordon, born 1800-1810, back into Ireland.
I would also like to find out whether Francis O’Leary, born in Killarney around 1806-1808, was Mary O’Leary’s brother or cousin. Mary was born in 1818 in Killarney.
John Jordon’s first wife was Catherine Kenny. Her father may have been Thomas Kenny. A Thomas Kenny was a witness at John and Mary’s marriage. John and Catherine were born and married in Ireland. They emigrated to Canada and were in Ontario by 1851-52. John was approximately 44 and Catherine 47 as per the Census of Canada 1851. They had a son Patrick, born approximately 1841, and possibly other children. Catherine passed away in 1853.
I would like to trace John Jordon back into Ireland.
Any help finding John Jordon in Ireland would be much appreciated.
