Richard Moloney was my G.G Grandfather. His daughter, Ellen Moloney, provided the following details on her marriage cert. dated 5th Aug 1872 when she married in Geelong Victoria.
Father's name: Richard Moloney; Mother's name Margaret (maiden name Margaret Hutchinson); Father's occupation "Ironmonger"; address given for him at that time was Castleconnell,Ireland.
There appears to be a family link to the Dowling family of Castleconnell as Catherine Moloney, born Obriensbridge 1815, married George Dowling born Castleconnell 1803.
Despite years of research, inc. visits to Obriensbridge and Castleconnell, I have been unable to locate any history, detail or information about these families. Can anybody assist? I am desparate.

I guess my first question is whether you have tested your DNA and identified matches who may be 3rd or 4th cousins?
I looked at the Tithe records for Stradbally civil parish in Co. Limerick (which includes Castleconnell) and there were 98 Moloney/Maloney records although no Richard records. This date was from the late 1820s/early 1830s. Possibly Richard's father is listed.
From your note, I gather that Richard and Margaret Hutchinson married in Australia. The surname Hutchinson is not found in the Castleconnell/O'Briensbride area.
