Daly

Anthony:

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the only John Daly record with parents Michael and Bridget was in 1870 in Kilronan parish which is not far from Boyle. The mother was Bridget Gaffney.

I also checked in Co. Sligo and got no record.

There were four John Daly baptismal records in the 1840s in Co. Roscommon with father was Michael but the mother was not a Bridget.

Any other info on the family like siblings?

Hi Roger, thank you for getting back to me.

I don't have any further information. I think Bridgets surname was Harman or Hamlin or maybe Hanlon. The name on John's death cert isn't clear.
I found a record for Crettyard, Laois that matched the names and dates better, but I can't be sure it is them.
Any ideas?

I think there is definitely a connection to the area, otherwise I'm not sure why my great grandfather would mention that specific place.
His grandfather was Mark O'Neill born around 1823 to Thomas O'Neilland Mary Delaney, is that name in the area?

I checked the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for both Boyle and Kilronan civil parishes. Did not find any Delaney records.
