Looking for any information of ancestors:
Michael Reddington - born 1841 Swinford, married Bridget Brady (b. 1839 or 1841) on 2-6-1861 and died 2-20-1909 in Swinford.
Michael's parents might be James Reddington and Bridget?
Bridget Brady's parents might be John Brady and Catherine?
Thank you!
Mary Beth (Reddington)

Mary Beth:
There is a gap in the Swinford RC baptismal records from June 1826 until May 1841 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0133 Unfortunately, I believe that the James Reddington baptismal record and likely the Bridget Brady record are within the gap period. I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and there is a December 1 1843 baptismal record in Swinford RC parish for a Bridget Brady with father John Brady but the mother was Siby Durcan. Likely not your Bridget but I thought I would share the record.

Hi Beth, I think these could be your Michael and Bridget, the birth dates of both Michael and Bridget tally with your dates. They came from Lagcurragh Swinford, Lagcurragh being the townland or village as I call it( my mum was from Cuilmore Swinford) I am going to upload two pictures 1901 and 1911 census pages they are on. On the 1911 census they have misspelt Lagcurragh with a O nstead of a A this happens alot on the census, I will also send you the links to census as there is a lot of Reddingtons in the village I think they might be all Related? On the 1911 census if looks like John the eldest son has married and living with wife and children and also his mother Bridget a widower the house, which fits in with Michaels death in 1909. I hope they are your ancestors.

Thank you so much, Rosaleen. I had one piece of this information but not the other, so this is very helpful!
Yes, this is my family. The son Michael on the 1901 census is my grandfather who I never met. I know the family had 11 children total. All of the sons and daughters immigrated to the US except for John. I believe that John's descendants still live on the farm. I think it went from John, to his son James, to his son Edward possibly.
My brother and I visited Ireland for a wedding in Sligo in 1982, but I hadn't studied my ancestry, so I had no information about my relatives. If my husband and I decide to visit Swinford (hopefully soon!), is there a way we might be able to locate this farm? How is property designated? It would be lovely to find it!
Thank you so much!

Hi Mary Beth,
Oh so glad they are your family and I'm happy to have helped. When you get to Swinford Town in the future you just need to ask anyone and they will point you in the right direction, there is a Garda police station In in Swinford Town good place to start. When you get to Lagcurragh just ask around where the Reddingtons reside. Lagcurragh is further on from Swinford Town on the N26. Good Luck I'm sure you will find your family. I will include a link to the Map which shows Lagcurragh
You will have to copy and paste the below link into Google to get to the map, (had problems getting the link to Work)
