Looking for my 3RD Great grandmother, Catherine Walsh, who married someone with the last name of O'Brien. They had a daughter, Bridget(t) O'Brien, on Febuary 02, 1829. Catherine Walsh may have been born in Tooreen, Partry district around 1800-1805 to a James Walsh who was a farmer and a school teacher. My family is saying that she has a sister named Bridgett Walsh, born around 1803 in Tooreen also, who later married a Thomas Gibbons. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Katherine.
I believe my 3rd g-grandfather Ransom Walsh was a brother of Catherine and Bridget. Bridget did marry Thomas Gibbons and they immigrated to the U.S. One of their sons was James Cardinal Gibbons. You can find a lot about him through a web search, for example http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Gazetteer/People/James_Gibbons/ELLxLCG/1*.html. Ransom's family also immigrated to the U.S. I don't know anything about Catherine. I'm looking for information on their father James and their mother (name?). No luck yet.Regards, Catherine Goodman

Hello Catherine Goodman.
I just received your message with your information. I was beginning to give up on receiving any information at all regarding Catherine Walsh. I have been trying to find genealogical information on Cardinal James Gibbons, but, that has proven to be difficult as well. I do appreciate the link you sent me and will definitely look at it. Where did Ransom Walsh immigrate to in the U.S.? Catherine Walsh's daughter (Bridget O'Brien- married name Clark) immigrated to Maryland in the U.S. I will continue searching and with any luck will stumble upon something which I will share with you. Thank you again for this information.
Sincerely, Katherine Pitts
