Hi Gilchrist, I think you have to search Loughrea parish on the search engine. I'm also searching on that as well..
Cheers,
Lea..

Coley,
Thank you for your suggestion. Previously a researcher dtermined that my Gilchrist ancestors are from Loughrea and recently I saw where a posting was referred to the Loughrea volunteer. I am hoping to connect with this volunteer to explore a visit to do more research when the pandemic is behind us. You are right the name Gilchrist is Kelchreest in the Loughrea records that were provided.
Your interest is appreciated.

Hi Gilchrist and Coley:
I will forward this thread to the Loughrea area volunteers who should be able to assist with your questions.
Let me know if you do not hear from them within the next week or so.
All the best,
Jane

Hi Everyone, I trying to locate an ancestor that died in Spiddal. His name was Timothy Lynch. All I know of him was he was born in Spiddal in 1896. He was listed on one census (1901) and then he is gone. He's not on the 1911 census. I was trying to locate his grave in Spiddal. He's not buried at Rahoon Cemetery. How would I locate his grave. Not all graveyards have parishes listed. I'm am sure he's there. HIs death probably took place antytime after 1901. How do I solve this mystery? Any suggestion?

Hi Babsbunny
Timothy was possibly still alive in 1911. The 1911 census shows 7 children residing with parents. However the parents also indicate that 9 of their children are still living ! so possibly Timothy still alive, perhaps in School / Industrial school.

Gerard, Parish Liaison Lackagh
