Hello - I have been researching my great grandmother Ann/Anne Kelly b.1864. The only info I have was a father named Patrick Kelly and she did name her first child Mary. I had originally thought she might be from the Lowtown Kilcashel, Co Roscommon area but never came up with a birth certificate. After expanding my search to Ballinasloe, it took me to Co Galway. I came across Anne Kelly b. 27 Aug 1864 in Clonfert, PLU Ballinasloe, Reg District Laurencetown, daughter of Patrick Kelly and Mary Murray. I have gone through all of the civil birth records in Roscommon and Galway. I am trying to get a better feel for Confert in the early 1860s. I see there is Clonfert - North & South, Buston and Demesne. What catholic church might a child be baptised in. I am trying to find out if Patrick and Mary Kelly had any more children. Anne did marry John Dolan b. 1863 from Lowtown Kilcashel and immigrated to Boston, MA, US.
Would appreciate and thoughts or insight.

The RC records for Eyrecourt/Clonfert do not start until 1884 so no baptismal records would be available for someone from that parish. I found three other civil birth records for siblings of Anne although there may be others. The townland shown on these records is Kylemore which is a townland in Clonfert civil parish. The question is whether this is the correct family. Do you have any info on siblings O Anne?
Did the entire family emigrate? There were no Kellys in Kylebrack in 1901.

I took a look on Ancestry.com and found a 1920 census record in Boston (Coll St?) for a John Dolan family. He and his wife Anne were 55. The both emigrated in 1888 . Three sons in the house John 34 Thomas 26 and Walter 20. is this your family?

Hello Roger, it's me again, Regina from Massachusetts continuing my journey. Yes this is my family, they immigrated in 1886 to Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA and had 6 more children in Boston for a total of 7 children. You might recall John Dolan was from Lowtown Kilcashel, Creagh, Ballinasloe and his daughter Mary was born there as well. I had thought Mary Kelly might be from there but never found anything. I have a DNA connection with a Kelly, 5th-8th generation on Ancestry from Lowtown Kilcashel but turns out his great grandfather married a Dolan, we think it might be the Dolan line we are connected by. I looked at the civil birth records for Anne Kelly with a father named Patrick in Roscommon and Galway. My best match was with Anne Kelly b. 1864 in Clonfert. When I looked at the map, I saw that Clonfert, Ballinasloe and Lowtown Kilcashel were about 20-25 Km and thought this could be a good probability. It's not 100% but I have plugged it into my Ancestry tree hoping to get some hints. No hits yet.
I am unsure if anyone else immigrated. When John Dolan went for his US naturalization in late 1880's his witness was a Patrick Kelly living on the same street... Father-in-law, brother-in-law, Anne's cousin???
John Dolan and Anne Kelly's first child Mary born in IRE - baptismal sponsors were John Kelly and Ellen Dolan; their 2nd child John, born 6 months after arriving in Boston, his baptismal sponsors were Patrick Kelly and Catherine Lyons; 5th child, Francis had a baptismal sponsor named Catherine Kelley - could this be the Catherine Lyons who might have married Patrick Kelly????.
So possible siblings - Honor, John and James. I have some notes from FIND MY PAST from last year that I will have to look at and see if I can connect them to any other siblings.
I will check out Kylemore/Kylemon/Kylebrack - I am unsure how likely people were to move back in those days. I have a feeling they did probably driven by need of work but never strayed too far from their community.
