I am looking for any information on my family from Avoca. I have records of birth, marriage but have no idea when they left Avoca and if they all immigrated to America together or seperately. I don't know the village, I just have the Catholic Parish Records that say Avoca and not sure if that was the town or village?
This is what I know:
Great-Great Grandfather - James Earls born 10 Aug 1802 in Avoca to John Earls and Jane Kavanagh. He had a brother Henry (b. 1810), Joseph (1812), Joseph (1817) and Jane (1820) who married William McManus 6 Sept 1841 in Avoca).
Great-Great Grandfather James Earls married Anne Devlin, 25 Nov 1839 in Avoca. They had 2 children that I have documented.
Jane Earls (bap. 2 Apr 1843) Avoca, Wicklow
James Earls(great grandfather) baptised 9 Mar 1845, Avoca, Wicklow
They moved maybe into the Dublin area in the late 1840's. There was a second son born around 1853-55 but we have no documentation but belived he was born in Ireland. James (great grandfather) imigrated to the US around 1855-60 but we have no office record of him coming with his parents. We know he was mining in 65-1870 in Virginia City, Nevada. He married my great grandmother (Bridget Kirby) on 19 May 1872 in New Jersey which we obtained from their bible. We have the documentation from then on forward, also on his sister Jane who ended up in Nebraska married to Michael Brady.
Any information would be appreciated.

I think the Earls were from a place called Oghill in Castlemacadam civil parish. See this link for the 1824 Tithe listings for Castlemacadam parish and you will see a number of Earls records including a John. Oghill did not become an offical townland when townlands were standarized in 1851.
I looked at the 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Castlemacadam civil parish. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/wicklow/castlemacadam.htm
There was only one Earl record in Cronebane townland. So possibly, Oghill became Cronebane. I need to do more research.

I did a little more research and there are two townlands Oghil Upper and Oghil Lower in Redcross parish which borders Castlemacadam civil parish. People from both parishes would have been part of the RC parish of Avoca. Here is the 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Redcross civil parish https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/wicklow/redcross.htm and you will see four Erls records in Oghil Lower townland and I'm wondering if there was an adjustment to parish boundaries which accounts for the Tithe records in Castlemacadam and the Griffiths records in Redcross.

It does look like there might have been an adjustment to parish boundaries. It's interesting in the 1854 Griffiths Vauation that James Earls isn't showing. I believe they left Wickow around 1848 or 1849. I didn't see anyother births them sponsoring any relatives at all when looking at the Catholic Records in that area from 1847 on. James sister, Jane Earls (bap. 9 July 1820) married a William McManus on 6 Sept 1841) and I believe they stayed in the area. I will check out the records and see if I can find any relatives that might have stayed in the area.
