Hello there! Hoping for assistance about mygrandmother, Honora Conneely in Spiddel, born in 1900 (?); Nora Connelly came to America in 1920 (?) Father- Michael Conneely, Mother - Bridget Keady, married 1897, Chappel of Spiddel, three siblings. Told her parents died before she turned 13, lived with maternal grandmother afterwards.
Appreciate any help you can give. She came into New York. She was 5 "9" inches (thereabouts). Using this to help with the Ellis Island piece although the records are challenging to make out. Would love to know about her family. We were told the Quiet Man was filmed on a farm they owned (?) worked (?).
Thanks so much,
Elizabeth Fenton

Hi,
So the marriage certificate I emailed shows the marriage on June 1, 1924. Interesting that your records show the year as being 1922. Do you keep departure records of the Irish who left for America? Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth,
I have no knowledge of the marriage certificate you refer to. I attach copies of the baptism and civil record of Honor Conneely which are downloaded from Roots Ireland Website. I act as a Voluntary Contributor to Ireland Reaching Out. In relation to the name "King" on the baptism certificate, there is a connection between Keady and King in 1860 where a James Keady married an Honor King. One of the Witnesses was "Bridget King". A "John Keady" was baptised in Rahoon in August 1861 whose father was John and mother "Honor King". This may account for the mix up!
I will continue with a later post.
